A Swedish hunter and his dog were found dead outside a hunting shack in northern Sweden. The man was severely bitten and there were a lot of bear tracks. The man was unarmed and the dog was not a hunting dog so this has happened before the hunting. The man was in the area to hunt moose.
It has been a bad year for blueberries and black crowberries, which have made the bears extremely hungry and this has forced them out of the woods in search for food. People have seen them chase moose. This is something they normally do only in the spring time. The people of the village Valsjöbyn have complained about bears for a long time. They were allowed to shoot 4 earlier this year but wanted to shoot more. People in the area are now chocked and angry.
Update: The bear was shot the following day. It was a small boar weighing 200 kg.
