Several hunters have reported that it has been an exceptional good season for birds in northern Scandinavia. Ptarmigans (or grouse, as the europeans call them), capercaillie, and wood grouse have been plentiful. The best hunting is with pointing dogs. The number of birds will be high if the weather has been good during the time for hatching.

Northern Scandinavia is a dream for wingshooters. The hunt might be very rewarding with a good dog.If the dog is well-trained a lot of opportunities will arise...A capercaillie is a fantastic game bird.
