Mouflon in Macedonia

The smallest of the wild sheep, Ovis musimon, native to Corsica and Sardinia and related to the argalis. Mouflons inhabit mountains, living in small flocks, in rough and often precipitous terrain. The coat of the mature male is reddish-brown with a whitish saddle. Both sexes usually have horns, although those of the female are often very small. After a gestation period of about six months, one to three lambs are born.

The Lakavica reserve (Macedonia) is situated at about 100km from Skopje. It has 7000 hectares, out of which 2000 are fenced with a comfortable hunting lodge consisting of 4 double bedrooms with services. The hunting grounds are prevalently mountainous with the typical Mediterranean vegetation. The reserve is rich in Wild Boars, Mouflon, Fallow Deer and Wolves. The hunt is done on the bait and by stalking.
